Ainslie and Gorman Arts Centres are twin arts centres, both situated within heritage listed buildings. Gorman Arts Centre also boasts two internal courtyards, each with a magnificent Hawthorn tree at its heart. In Celtic mythology Hawthorn trees are symbols of love and protection, and what better place to declare your love for someone, than under one such tree.
At Ainslie and Gorman Arts Centres we believe every wedding should be as unique as the couple who are celebrating. As an arts organisation we like to think creatively and offer beautiful settings within which you can build your own style of wedding, according to your individual needs.
Centrally located, Ainslie and Gorman are just a stone’s throw from Canberra’s CBD but feel a world away. Both centres have recently undergone extensive capital works which have restored their heritage value. Each space is beautifully appointed with modern amenities, whilst holding onto the character and history that make the venues so distinctive.
Available for both ceremonies and receptions, Ainslie and Gorman offer a range of beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces, suitable for all seasons and all with a touch of heritage charm.
Ainslie and Gorman are proud to stand with Canberra’s LGBTIQ+ community, and we look forward to welcoming everyone to celebrate their special day at our centres.
Whether it’s an intimate garden party with a few of your closest friends, or a large celebration, we understand that your wedding day is special and will work closely with you to ensure it’s everything you hope it can be.
