Scandalous Boy by David Atfield
In Ancient Rome, lust was not a sin.
It’s 130 AD and the body of a beautiful young man lies lifeless on the banks of the Nile. In his short life he became famous throughout the Roman Empire. In death he will become a god. But who was he?
Dismissed by Christian historians as a “shameless and scandalous boy”, this is the story of Antinous, lover of the Emperor Hadrian, and, in the 21st century, he has come back to reclaim his place in history. His story is a tale of political intrigue, of youth sought after and youth lost, of sex and lust, and of love. Written and directed by David Atfield, and featuring AFI-award winning Nicholas Eadie as Hadrian, ‘Scandalous Boy’ is sexy, funny, moving and unforgettable.
