Medlin is a curator and artist in the field of dance and Media Arts. For 25 years she has lit and designed dance performances, produced film, video and new media art works. As a freelance designer Medlin works collaboratively, teaming up with many choreographers and directors including Ros Warby, Sandra Parker, Rebecca Hilton, Lucy Guerin, Russell Dumas, Russell Maliphant, John Jaspers, Ong Keng Sen, Gideon Obarzanek and Carol Brown. Medlin produces and directs cinema and experimental new media art. Her installations Miss World, Quartet Project and Mobility in an Artificial City, have been exhibited extensively internationally. She is often invited to teach and facilitate workshops and has mentored many young artists in Australia and internationally. Between 2007 and 2015, as the Director of Critical Path, Sydney, Medlin created a program dedicated to the instigation of innovative platforms for choreographers and interdisciplinary artists. In 2014 she received an artistic leadership award from the Australia Council of the Arts to research Asian arts networks and the incubation of media arts practices.
Strange attractor is a choreographic development platform for professional and established independent dance artists based in or connected to Canberra.

Strange Attractor Writer in Residence (WiR) Program
The Strange Attractor WiR program aims to create an opportunity for a writer to engage in reflection on, critical analysis of, and creative responses to contemporary dance. The program is funded by Ainslie and Gorman Arts Centres.
