At Ainslie and Gorman Arts Centres we believe every wedding should be as unique as the couple who are celebrating. As an arts organisation we like to think creatively and offer beautiful settings within which you can build your own style of wedding, according to your individual needs.

Ainslie and Gorman Arts Centres are also proud to stand with Canberra’s LGBTIQ+ community; and with the recent passing Australia’s Marriage Equality laws, we look forward to welcoming everyone to celebrate their special day at our centres.

Centrally located, the twin arts centres are just a stone’s throw from Canberra’s CBD but feel a world away. Both centres have recently undergone extensive capital works which have restored their heritage value. Each space is beautifully appointed with modern amenities, whilst holding on to the character and history that make the venues unique.
Whether it’s an intimate garden party for a few of your closest friends or a large celebration, if you’re after an indoor or an outdoor venue, we understand that your wedding day is special and will work closely with you to ensure that it is everything you wish for.

If you love the idea of an outdoor ceremony in one of Gorman’s Courtyards, but you’re worried about the weather you can rest easy – the Main Hall at Gorman Arts Centre is kept free just for you, in case the weather turns.

There is a talented and passionate community of artists that can help you create a day that is authentic and distinctly yours. Our centres are home to designers, textile artists, gold and silversmiths, visual artists, musicians and photographers, and we also have an extensive network of unique businesses around Canberra that we can recommend.

Gorman Arts Centre resident, Andrew Sikorski of Art Atelier, contemporary yet classic photography has won him numerous awards throughout his extensive career, including ACT Wedding Photographer of the Year (AIPP). His eye for detail will capture all the important moments of your special day, leaving you with genuine and beautiful photographs.

Glass artist, Carole Griffiths, creates pieces of exquisite wearable art that are vibrant and elegant. In her studio at Gorman Arts Centre, Carole crafts individually hand-made glass beads, to create jewellery in her signature style – known for its colour and ability to make an impact. Carole can be commissioned to make unique, bespoke pieces of wearable art that are truly original.
From the moment your booking is confirmed, we will work closely with you to coordinate your requirements.

Please contact our Venue Hire Coordinator at venues[at] or call (02) 6182 0000 to discuss your needs and how we can help create a special event for you.
