Australian Dance Party is a collective of Canberra contemporary dance artists who challenge ideals, tell local and universal stories and communicate current issues. Driven by the vision of serial collaborator, dance and physical theatre artist, Alison Plevey, it is inspired by the political identity of Canberra and in fuelling its professional dance community. The Party creates new dance work often in everyday spaces harnessing the power and playfulness of the human body. We aim to capture new audiences for dance and inspire their thinking, feeling and connecting within this contemporary world.

As a not-for-profit company we aim to build and sustain careers for our dance artists through the creation and presentation of new work and an investment in creative practice. Through our projects we are interested in the intersection of dance with academia, science and business to promote and extend the presence of dance broadly in today’s world.
