The Italian madrigal tradition of the 17th century produced some of the world’s most innovative and finely crafted vocal music: powerful, achingly beautiful and audaciously surprising.
Ainslie Arts Centre resident organisation, Luminescence Chamber Singers is proud to present this collection of extraordinary works from the era’s most preeminent madrigal composers. Conducted by guest director, Dan Walker, this concert will feature several works by contemporary Italian composers such as Ildebrando Pizzetti, whose rich harmonic writing style and sensitivity echoes the music of his renaissance forbears, a reminder the Italian madrigal tradition is alive and well today.
Presented with support from Ainslie and Gorman Arts Centres
Participants of the Conductor’s Masterclass with Dan Walker will receive a 20% ticket discount
