reelancing and journalism with bestselling author and journalist Antony Loewenstein.

In this three-hour intensive, experienced international, political journalist and author Antony Loewenstein will help participants develop writing skills which change the conversation, bring empathy and affect public debate in an Australian and international setting.

Based on his years of experience living and working as a freelance and independent journalist, film-maker and author in South Sudan, Israel/Palestine, Afghanistan, Haiti, Australia, Europe, the US and beyond, Antony will discuss how to ‘cut through’ today’s fractured mainstream media to find and write interesting stories and get them published in Australia and globally.

This three-hour workshop gives writers a chance to develop skills to cut through the ‘white noise’ to find, write and publish authentic political stories, including longer works of non-fiction including books and long-form essays.

Writers will learn:

  • How to find stories with real relevance and impact;
  • How to use writing tools to create compelling news (novels and articles); and
  • How to find a place to publish your work, in Australia and globally.
