Ahead of the Game: The Players
Monday, 12 August 2019
Ahead of the Game is a residency that engages the diverse LGBTIQ+ community as it explores the nature of sporting culture in Australia.
It’s time to begin the first round of workshops where the players will be collaborating with Tristan Meecham of the inclusive Melbourne arts company All The Queens Men, to create a ‘queer’ sport.
From 19 – 23 of August they will take over the Ralph Wilson Theatre at Gorman Arts Centre for a week of intensive sports training and re imagining. Who knows what may happen, but it is guaranteed to be an interesting ride. We have completed the call-outs and now it is time to meet the players.
Zev is a Canberra-based recovering performance artist currently learning how to be a maker. They like making people uncomfortable and working with their hands, but not at the same time. They really love sports.
